Programs

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Nelson Mandela

We offer a 2 day program for our 3 year olds on Monday and Tuesday mornings and a 3 day program for our 4-5 year olds on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.  Please contact us to learn about our 5 day class for your child that will be attending Kindergarten the following year. We have had great feedback on this program! We strive to maintain personal relationships with our students and have a small class size with maximum enrollment numbers for each class.

Our 2 day class has opportunities to voice their desires to learn, grow in their social skills and gain confidence through interactions with their peers.  All of our 2 day students have the opportunity to join us on field trips and various outside the classroom learning experiences.

Our older 3 and 5 day students are given the opportunity to model social skills and classroom behavior.  They are able to learn skills centered around the kindergarten curriculum. Our students will participate in activities daily that help them to transition smoothly as they move onto kindergartners and will surely be excited for the upcoming new chapter in their lives when they leave us in June!

All of our students are exposed to math, science, language arts, social studies, music, art and even movement. They practice letters and numbers daily and also work on their fine motor skills with activities such as cutting with scissors and exercise time.  Learning to follow directions and listening will also help them to grow and prepare for future schooling.

Field Trips and Community Outreach

Avon Community Nursery School is committed to providing various activities for their students both inside and outside of the classroom.  Throughout the year, ACNS students have had opportunities to visit Stokoe Farms Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival, the Avon Fire Department, Salvatores Pizzeria and Sweet Arts Bakery.
We also enjoy sharing our crafts and songs with neighbors.  Recently, the class visited residents of the Avon Nursing Facility and participated in the local Trees For Troops program through Stokoe Farms in Scottsville, N.Y.  During the year we also have family activity nights so that our students can enjoy time with their classmates, siblings and parents.
